Making up for my earlier post

After talking with a friend/coworker who was a collegiate swimmer just a few years ago, he gave me some vidoes to watch- and said he'd be glad to come to the pool with me to help correct my form.

Keep in mind that most competitive swimmers have hyper-mobile joints that make these extreme positions possible. When coaching age-group athletes, make sure whoever is working with you works with what *you* can do, which is not always what a collegiate or Olympic swimmer is capable of.

Biggest take-away from the Thorpe videos is not the high elbow in my book, but the long glide, which is very useful for distance (triathlon) swimmers. The high elbow may or may not be possible, based on your strength and flexibility. But the glide, everyone can do.

Great videos. Take your friend up on that offer though. It would be some awesome help. I would love to have some help with my stroke. My swim is terrible.

I find videos very helpful and like to watch them right before I head to the pool.
