Riddle Me This

I often think of things I want to ask while I am riding, running, or driving. You know times when I can't write them down. I tried to sit down and and write some of them out today. (note: As I began to write them more came out I hadn't thought of, and then a few more non training related came out just to get to know others.)

In no special order:

Can you recommend a good triathlon training book, or if not a running or a cycling book?

Does anyone else's knees turn red when cycling?

After what length (time or distance) workouts do you use recovery drinks?

Do you use any supplements (i.e. mito caps, race caps, CLA, Multi-vitamins), if so what do you use?

Have you tried G1 or G3 from gatorade?

Triathlete magazine seems over my head every time I pick one up, any good suggestions for training mags?

Favorite speed work workout overall?

Favorite speedwork workout for running, cycling, and/or swimming?

Do you have sponsors, how did you do it?

When did you start running, what pace were you at when you started, how long until you saw improvements?

What is you favorite piece of workout gear?

What is your favorite healthy/training food?

What food is your weakness?

Have you entered for free socks?

Matt Fitzgerald - complete triathlon book.

My knees don't turn red, my butt does though.

I drink right away if I think about it. I know, lame.

I take a multi vit.

Nope on the Gatoraid.

I like Beginnertriathlete.com not a mag, but has ooodles of info from triathletes who just want to help each other out.

Favorite speed work workout overall? Are you crazy? I hate all speed work.

Favorite speedwork workout for running, cycling, and/or swimming? I guess 700m repeats on the run. Ugh. Hill repeats on the bike. Swim speedwork? ha. I do dock intervals...

No sponsors. Well I got a free wetsuit from Neosport because my boyfriend and I drank with the rep one night.

Started running 2005. Speedwork made me faster but also made me injured - so don't over do it.

What is you favorite piece of workout gear? Do I have to pick one?

What is your favorite healthy/training food?
Banana-peanut butter smoothies (with protien powder) Let me know if you want the recipe.

What is food is your weakness? Ice cream and Pizza. and beer.

Have you entered for free socks? YES

I'd run on a treadmill for a few years, but only couple miles at a time and always at a slow 10:00 min. pace. Walked/jogged my first 5K with my husband in a super slow 40 min. Thanksgiving 2009. With only increasing miles and no speed work, my 5K is at 25:30 now. I'm going to do speedwork after my first marathon in Oct., I'm a believer of building endurance then speed.

Loaded post.

1. No, I hate reading books.
2. No, my butt does though.
3. Never worked out with recovery drinks. I drink protein shakes after lifting though.
4. GNC Megamen Multisport Vitamin or something like that.
5. No.
6. No.
7. Ladders
8. Ladders. 1min 2min 3min 4min 5min 4min 3min 2min 1min, 100m 200m 300m etc. Whatever you feel like doing. When you do them you can do full speed with min. recovery or full speed with full recovery. If I want to punish myself, I give 10-15sec recovery. If I want to get quality workout in, 1min run gets 1min recovery, 2min run gets 1min recovery, 3min run gets 1min recovery. You should be going at a pace where you want to cry.
9. Yes, Brooks Running. Email them. Email any company YOU LIKE. Don't get sponsored just to get sponsored. You should be endorsing a company because YOU like them and you want to support them. Too many people do it just to save money.
10. Don't remember. It took 2 months for me to go from average to top 3 on varsity.
11. My bike.
12. Kellogs Special K with Red Berries.
13. Ice cream, burgers, pizza, beer. CHOCOLATE.
14. No, they aren't brooks running socks, I can get in trouble :(

I'm not a tri guy, but I do take Endurolytes (Hammer) on hot/humid running days to help with cramps and ensure I am getting all my electrolytes
